Denki-gai no Honya-san Review

*Spoiler Alert*

When I was sick in my bed I started to look through different art software tutorials on YouTube. I started to watch videos about Clip Paint, or Manga Studio in North America, and the promotional videos of it. (I was really bored!) One of the video had a megane-ko in it so I had to watch it!

It ended up being a double promotional video of Denkai-ga no Honya-san (or The Bookstore in the Electronics Stores’ District) and Clip Studio Paint Ex, and really wanted to find out what went on afterwords. So I opened up a different browser and started to watch the 12 episodes and finished it overnight. I gotta say the character’s personality really spoke out and gave it some interesting points.

Denki-gai no Honya-san ReviewHiotan (who has eyebrows that reminds me of Mugi from K-on… it kinda bugged me a little bit) the clumsy, innocent one slowly being BL lover [some mainstream character traits but it suited her nicely]. She’s the big breasted innocent slow character that is getting promoted in some circles.

Denki-gai no Honya-san ReviewSensei looks like Kuroneko (from Ore-Imo), but with way less girly meter and glasses, and the acknowledge it by having her as her in one of the episode. The plot line takes the approach to finding her skill as a girl to confess to Umio.

Denki-gai no Honya-san ReviewWhen I first heard the name Fu-Girl, I thought that she was a BL lover, Fu coming from Fujoshi, but it turned out that she was obsessed with zombies instead (guess there are different parts of rotten). I’m obsessed with lolis and I think it is great when they have a crazy crazy character trait.

Denki-gai no Honya-san ReviewHonestly, I expected a harem anime that was involved around Umio (like Working!!!), but was plesently surprised that it involved different couples and love triangles. Umio reminds me of the standard new employee who is trying to figure out how things work, but a H-otaku.

Denki-gai no Honya-san ReviewSommelier’s meeting is something I want to perticipate in real life, although it’s an anime the idea of someone being able to guess what I want to read it great. Sommelier x Fu-Girl pairing has the gap moe that I like. [Normally lolis with similar figure are paired with a more average character or their brother/brother figure]

Denki-gai no Honya-san ReviewKameko would be someone I would love to have as a friend. I really like the courage that she has when she gave the Valentines chocolate to Kantoku, even knowing that he liked Hiotan (that takes a lot of gut!). I just hope that she would be able to find a different love interest in the later volume of the manga.

Denki-gai no Honya-san ReviewTsumori is the big sister character, trying to lead the girls to raise their ‘girl-meter’. She’s the heartbroken character trying to move on with her love like. [She reminds me of the girl who broke up with a guy, later to find out that he was a great guy…. but I should wait for more volumes of the manga to be released before making any judgement]

Denki-gai no Honya-san ReviewKantoku is the type to make fun of a girl he likes to get her to notice him more. Although childish I thought this was cute in this anime. I just hope that he would put his pride aside to ask Hiotan out or something.

Denki-gai no Honya-san ReviewEro-G-Man is another women interested in Sommelier (and his childhood friend) and gives him Valentines chocolate, however gives up (in the manga) when Sommelier chooses Fu-girl’s sweater over her’s for Christmas.

Denki-gai no Honya-san ReviewAlthough there are many pairings in this anime, my favorite was the Hiotan/Kantoku pairing, the moe meter was enough to make me stop the video a few times to calm myself down. Denki-gai no Honya-san ReviewDenki-gai no Honya-san Review Denki-gai no Honya-san ReviewDenki-gai no Honya-san Review

(^ My favorite scene from this manga [Ch 28])Denki-gai no Honya-san Review

It was a really good anime/manga and I can’t wait till vol 9 is released. However, I’m sad to say that I couldn’t find any doujinshi or fan-fiction to go along with this.
